My name? It has long since been lost. Now, most just call me Null. Original, I know.
I was born in the frozen reaches of Southern Garlemald. Oh so far away from our glorious capital, but I suppose that isn't really much of a problem now, is it? Not that I'd have been welcomed in the first place.
A savage? Me? No. Far from it, but still an outcast, unwelcomed, feared, despised. Ah, my Village, like some others you might have heard of was involved in... Older traditions, ones that predate the Empire. Ones that granted my people power.
The power to resist tyranny and oppression. To fight against the invaders that would see us extinct. Though, I guess now there aren't any invaders, well none except for us.
The thought of raising my blade to my kin, pains me. Though, recently I've seen that I didn't need to as the Empire turned the blade against itself. I did my duty though, I tried to save them. To usher them away from our home, to bring them somewhere safe.
The thanks I get? They spat in my face, threw rocks and debris at me. They cursed my name, and so I forsake it. I became nameless. That was quite sometime ago, long enough that I don't even remember what it was.
Now? I do my duty in other ways. My people made contact with a different shard, long ago. From this shard we were given the ability to wield Aether, in exchange for services repaid. But our debtors, cruel, hungering beasts. Slavers, no better than the invaders we sought to defend ourselves from. And so, this is my charge. I shall hunt down these creatures, these monsters and fiends as they invade our realm. And I will pay them back with blood.
Though, I suppose. If you have coin and need my particular set of skills... We could work something out.
I strive to stay within the confines of the lore, abiding by it to the best of my ability. By no means do I know every single detail, nor am I some perfect being. Everything I do with my characters is often carefully thought out, and I try to support it with written lore, or in more vague areas, I am not against looking towards previous entries in the franchise and of course theory crafting to try and find a plausible answer. I would expect a similar effort put forward by those that I interact with, and while I am not wholly against people taking inspiration from other universes, please do not try to turn FFXIV into things like Warframe, Destiny or 40k, it does kill my interest in doing things with you.A lot of us like to play the Adventurer or Hero archetype, and thus we tend to play strong or powerful characters, which is fine, but keep in mind that there are limits to what is believable. No one wants to run around with an unstoppable god that can walk through walls like they were paper, or crumple armor with a flick of their finger. I believe OOC communication is one of the best tools in RP, if there is something that you aren't sure on, or that you aren't comfortable with, then I encourage you to ask OOC for clarification that way we can all try to keep the interaction entertaining for everyone involved. After all, we're collaborating on a story for everyone involved.I am open to all forms of RP, from casual slice of life to action and adventure. And while I am not shy about darker, more violent themes, or yes even those that are Erotic, I would ask that you message me OOC with those intentions before just springing them on me.I've been Roleplaying through quite a few different mediums since I was like 10, moving through online forums, to tabletops like DND, Rogue Trader, and MMOs like World of Warcraft, SWTOR, etc.Outside of Roleplaying, I enjoy competitive shooting (ELR/PRS, 3-gun, etc), hiking, camping, hunting, playing other Video games like Hunt: Showdown.I work in multiple roles as a First Responder and I am certified as a Paramedic, amongst other things, which leads me lead a fairly busy life.
